Overview The Fireye 45UV5-1009 is a self-checking ultraviolet (UV) flame scanner designed for industrial burner management and flame safeguard applications. It is engineered to detect UV radiation emitted from fossil fuel flames while providing high levels of safety through an integrated self-checking mechanism. This scanner is particularly well-suited for continuously fired applications where the burner cycles infrequently. Features Self-Checking Mechanism: Features an electromagnetic shutter that cycles every four seconds to verify the integrity of the UV tube and electronic circuits. High Sensitivity: Utilizes a planoconvex quartz lens to increase sensing sensitivity by up to 400 percent. Durable Construction: Housed in a cast aluminum enclosure with oil-resistant gaskets for reliable performance in harsh industrial environments. Selective Spectrum Detection: Responds only to the ultraviolet spectrum (190-270 nm), making it blind to infrared radiation and visible light to prevent false signals from hot refractory. Easy Maintenance: Equipped with a hinged mount for quick access to clean the quartz lens and a double screw-and-keyhole slot for easy removal. Specifications Model: 45UV5-1009 Supply Voltage: 102 to 264 VAC shutter power (120 VAC nominal) Mounting: 1 inch NPT threaded sight pipe connection Purge Air Connection: 3/8 inch NPT Operating Temperature Range: -40 degree F to 200 degree F (-40 degree C to 93 degree C) Lead Wires: 8 feet (2.4 meters) pre-attached Weight: Approximately 3.6 to 3.75 lbs Optical Range: 2200 to 2600 angstroms Applications The 45UV5-1009 is used with Fireye BurnerLogix, Flame-Monitor, MicroM, D-Series, and FlameWorx control systems. It is ideal for monitoring flames produced by natural gas, propane, methane, butane, kerosene, and light petroleum distillates. Common applications include: Industrial and commercial boilers Process heaters and ovens Furnaces and kilns Utility boilers in power generation facilities Hazardous locations requiring explosion-proof protection (when used with CEX housing)

Installation Guidelines

Always make sure the wall has been wiped clean prior to installation.

Temporary installation :

3M (Picture hanging strips) or double sided tape can be used.Glue or staple picture hanging strip to the back of the acoustic panels. Because of their porous sound absorbing nature they do not stick as well to the 3m/double sided strip as the wall will.
